2017 Oncology Pharmacy Practice Literature Award
The Oncology Pharmacy Practice Literature Award recognizes an article, other than scientific research, that contributes to the betterment of the hematology/oncology pharmacy profession, and describes innovations in community, hospital, or healthcare system in hematology/oncology pharmacy practices.
Dr. Sweiss is a clinical assistant professor, inpatient clinical pharmacist in hematology and bone marrow transplantation at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in Chicago. She received this award for her article, Melphalan 200 mg/m2 in patients with renal impairment is associated with increased short-term toxicity but improved response and longer treatment-free survival, published in Bone Marrow Transplantation, for which she served as lead author. Dr. Sweiss’s research is focused on clinical therapeutics of hematologic malignancies and supportive care measures.
