Submissions for the 2019 Practice Management Sessions are due at 11:59 pm CST on Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Overall Course Goals and Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be better able to:

  • Describe emerging technologies and compliance standards in oncology pharmacy operations.
  • Discuss key concepts and strategies in the justification of new oncology pharmacy resources.
  • Demonstrate how updates in electronic medical record technology can improve care management for cancer patients.
  • Review emerging value-based payment strategies in oncology.
  • Develop strategies to optimize the care of patients receiving oral anticancer therapy.

Session Submissions

The purpose of the session submission is to give readers a concise summary of your presentation and to also capture the necessary information required for ACPE.

Please note, the Practice Management Committee has built learning objectives to help guide the direction of the session.  It is recommended to either utilize these same objectives or to use these a guidance for your own learning objectives that are equivalent to the ones provided.  If you decide to submit your own learning objectives, please ensure they are aligned with the suggested learning objectives.

HOPA will use this information for course registration and listing in the course program book. Please submit your name, credentials, and session title as you’d like to see it published. HOPA reserves the right to edit session descriptions for space, clarity, and grammar.

Additional Submission Guidelines

Type the session proposal title in “Title Case,” capitalizing the first letter of each word only. Submissions must have a title to be considered for the course session curriculum.

Online disclosure statements must be signed by all presenters. Presenters must state disclosure information at the beginning of their presentation, even if they have nothing to disclose.

Please ensure all credentials are accurate and listed in the order they should be printed. HOPA will print credentials exactly as they are recorded in this submission. Changes to credentials can be made until March 31, 2019. No changes to credentials will be accepted in printed materials after March 31, 2019.

Avoidance of Commercialism

All presentations must avoid commercialism. Presentations that constitute promotion and advertising (including the use of logos) will not be considered. If the cost of any presentation has been underwritten to any extent, a clear acknowledgement stating the support, identifying the source, and describing the methods for keeping the content unbiased should be included. Advertising matter that in any way promotes the commercial interest of a particular company, enterprise, or the author(s) may not be distributed or displayed. Statements made in the presentation are the sole responsibility of the author and are not viewed as, or considered representative of, any formal position taken on any product, subject, or issued by HOPA.
