The HOPA Investigational Drug Service Best Practice Standards is the first of its kind that provides the best practice standards and guidance for pharmacists and institutions that conduct clinical trials. This document also provides a foundation for pharmacy to be involved very early in protocol development and review, to ensure that the trial meets institutional medication guidelines, is executed efficiently, and adheres to all regulations and standards.

ONS Medical Surveillance Questionnaire
Medical surveillance programs are recommended to detect changes in the health status of those working with hazardous drugs. The Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) has developed a sample medical surveillance questionnaire that can be adapted to your healthcare setting. HOPA continues to work with ONS and other nursing and professional association representatives to share members’ concerns about safe handling of hazardous drugs and are partnering to encourage safety in health care.

Advance Practitioner Certificate Programs
Three certificate programs are available for Advance Practitioners who work in oncology. The program is a collaborative effort between ASCO, APAO, APSHO, MEI, and HOPA. The program consists of 3 certificate programs comprised of 10 courses each. Topics include supportive care, common anti-cancer therapies, pain management, and immuno-oncology. AMCP Biosimilars Resource Center
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) offers the Biosimilars Resource Center (BRC) - an "unbiased, policy-neutral repository of educational resources and information on biosimilars for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers."
