I am a Canadian that lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan. I live with my husband, two daughters, and our two dogs. I graduated with my PharmD in 2009 at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and spent my career as a community pharmacist. I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer when I was 34 years old, and have gone through numerous treatments (IV chemo, double mastectomy, radiation, oral chemo, and immunotherapy). This diagnosis prompted me to consider expanding my knowledge and career goals, and I am currently finishing up a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering program. My hope is to work in industry or research to provide better treatment options for women facing breast cancer, especially women who are diagnosed under 40 years old.
For fun, I enjoy either binge-watching TV or reading (I cycle between the two until I get burned out from one). I like to workout outside and spend time at the pool. I am a swim official for the YMCA as my daughters are competitive swimmers. I love Christmas and Halloween, and am always down to grab a bite to eat (especially dessert).
