Sara S. Kim, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA, is a Senior Pharmacy Manager for Oncology Clinical Services at the Northwell Health Cancer Institute in New York, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She has been practicing as a pharmacist for nearly 30 years, with 25 years dedicated to the field of oncology. Currently, she oversees the clinical pharmacy program at the seven ambulatory cancer centers at Northwell Health Cancer Institute.

Prior to joining Northwell, Dr. Kim spent 15 years at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York as an Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, focusing on Blood and Marrow Transplant and Leukemia.

Dr. Kim was diagnosed with presumed cholangiocarcinoma during 2021-2022 and underwent major open abdominal surgery in 2022 for bile duct resection and reconstruction of her digestive system. Following the surgery, to everyone’s surprise, the extensive biopsy results from the specimens returned negative for cancer, and the scans no longer revealed any tumors in the liver. Having experienced being a “cancer” patient herself, although relatively brief, Dr. Kim became an advocate for improved cancer care and strives to be the voice of cancer patients.
