Self Study 2024 Release II: Adolescent/Young Adult Survivorship (Healthcare Disparities as well as Long-Term Mortality)

Type: IndividualFormat: On-demand

Despite the increasing number of adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of cancer, this specialized oncological population does not have a specific medical home. There is still a paucity of literature on the long-term effects AYA survivors of cancer face and how to optimize survivors’ surveillance, long-term follow-up, transitions between healthcare practices. This module will explore the challenges faced by AYA survivors of cancer including physical, psychological, and social burdens, risk of comorbidity development, and factors influencing increased mortality and reduced survival.
