Election Statement

I am honored to be considered for the position of President-Elect for the HOPA Board of Directors. As a member of HOPA for almost 20 years, I have witnessed incredible growth in the organization and its members' expertise. HOPA's increasing visibility and influence in oncology and pharmacy collaborations are a testament to the dedication of our community.

Currently serving as Treasurer on the Board, I've developed a strong understanding of the financial and operational strategies that contribute to HOPA's success. My experiences across diverse roles - ranging from clinical oncology pharmacy to business strategy - have prepared me to lead and shape HOPA's future. I am passionate about leveraging technology, analytics, and data-driven insights to meet the evolving needs of our profession.

Reaching the goals of HOPA's strategic plan is highly dependent on the energy, expertise, and time of HOPA member volunteers as well as staff from HOPA's management organization for collaborative success.

Organizational excellence is the foundation of HOPA's work, and my goal is to maintain strong financial and operational policies to ensure the sustainability and growth of our initiatives. My experience in business strategy and my enthusiasm for integrating technology, including AI, position me to help HOPA stay at the forefront of innovation.

Research and advocacy are essential to advancing practice, and I am committed to fostering collaboration and promoting clinical and quality research. Advocacy, once outside my comfort zone, has become essential to me, and I will continue to inspire members to engage in efforts that highlight the impact of oncology pharmacists.

Professional development is central to HOPA's mission, and we must continue enhancing resources and best practices that benefit pharmacists in all settings, from large institutions to smaller community sites. By focusing on career growth and networking, I will work to ensure HOPA continues to advance our profession.

Education is central to our mission, and my expertise in developing innovative learning solutions will help HOPA remain agile in meeting the evolving needs of our members. I am committed to expanding HOPA's educational reach by fostering collaborations with external stakeholders. These partnerships will enhance the value of HOPA's educational offerings, positioning us as a respected source of knowledge for both members and non-members alike.

If elected, I will collaborate with the Board and our members to strengthen our roles, advocate for patients, and anticipate changes in the oncology pharmacy landscape. For HOPA to continue to grow and be recognized as a key part of the cancer care team, it's important to utilize our unique diversity as individuals and in our practice settings, from small community settings to large academic centers to different specialty pharmacy models and oncology pharmacists in non-traditional roles including industry, managed care, technology, and others. Our ability to see the big picture and think of ways to create systems change is a huge asset to HOPA's membership.

I am excited about the future of HOPA and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this vibrant, forward-thinking organization. Thank you for considering me for your vote.
