The Quality Oversight Committee will aid quality and value-based initiatives, and identify, provide guidance, and promote quality-based oncology and pharmacy opportunities, including education and training, to the organization.
The Quality Oversight Committee aims to complete the following scope of work:
- Maintain and update resources and learning opportunities for membership focused on value and quality-based patient care
- Work with HOPA staff to develop an evolving marketing strategy to emphasize/highlight HOPA’s work within quality
- Identify ways to incorporate healthcare quality and value within HOPA’s current and future strategic initiatives
Summary of HOPA's Quality Projects
Awarded at the Annual Conference each year, the Quality Research Certificate celebrates exemplary research focused on quality care in oncology. Up to five certificate winners are chosen from the Trainee, Late-Breaking, and Completed Research Abstracts that are submitted to the Conference. The winning abstracts are also highlighted in a HOPA News column following the Conference.

Since 2019, HOPA has partnered with ASCO QTP to offer annual One-Day Workshops that cover the basics of QI work through a pharmacy-specific lens. Committee members serve as breakout room leaders during the these workshops.
In 2022, HOPA collaborated with ASCO QTP and the Oral Chemotherapy CollaborativeTM (OCC) to launch the first-ever joint 6-Month Program. Ten pharmacist-led teams developed and executed a QI project at their individual institutions, all focused on oral chemotherapy.
